Born and raised in the Washington, DC metro area, Fogleman has maintained his roots and pursued his culinary interests locally. He attended the Baltimore International Culinary College, graduating in 1997. Since then Fogleman has pursued various culinary experiences, honing his skills and passion for all things pastry, focusing on desserts. In 2011, he joined Bayou Bakery in Arlington, VA. Then in 2014, he accepted a position with the team at BLT Steak in Washington, DC. He next moved to Alexandria, Virginia to join the opening team at Magnolia’s on King in March 2015. Zachary Faden, Craft Mixologist
Zachary (Zach) Faden was raised outside Philadelphia, moving to the nation’s capital to study history and philosophy at American University in Washington, DC, and at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, before making DC his home in 2010. While working for the Defense Intelligence Agency in a variety of roles, Faden’s intellectual wanderlust inspired him to apply his research skills and methodologies to his passion for the history and culture of drinking. He poured over classic cocktail books, took research trips to bars, and began making his own infusions, tinctures and cocktails. His passion became a hobby, then an obsession, which in turn matured into his current profession.
Faden’s notable hospitality stints at his current age of 27 include time spent honing his craft at the notable Columbia Room in 2013. He also worked at Rogue 24 as a captain and bartender, from 2014 until his new May 2015 appointment as the craft mixologist at Magnolia’s on King. His drinks pay homage to the classics, as well as experimenting with unusual and delicious flavor profiles, which is reflected in Magnolia’s bar menu featuring Zach’s Classics, Riffs, and Originals.
